Phenolic
The resins obtained by condensation reaction of phenolic compounds (cresol, phenol, Cresol, resorcinol) and aldehyde compounds (formaldehyde, furfural) under the action of acid or alkali catalyst are called phenolic resin. Phenolic resin is widely used for FRP, molded materials, electrical insulating materials, wood binders and so on. The binder used in the refractory industry to replace tar and bitumen for carbon-containing or sic refractories is also widely used.
