Since 2009, the demand for paper and paperboard in Japan has fallen below 30 million tonnes, down to 26.87 million tonnes in 2015. It is expected that the demand for paper and paperboard in Japan is only 25.31 million tons in 2020, with paper demand of 14 million tons and cardboard demand of 11.31 million tons.
