With the release of the ban on illegal magnesite mining, prices of large crystalline fused magnesia rise accordingly, which has hiked by over RMB 300 per ton by late January.
In spite of stable market demand, the operating rate of local producers in Liaoning keeps at a low level due to mining restriction, and most producers limit production to market ability and base sales on inventories, which has a certain support to current high prices.
Prices staying at high level is also owing to foreign market demand, which is chiefly from European and American countries and regions, followed by that from South Korea, Japan and Indonesia.
